Our Facility Originally founded in July of 1988 with just handful of employees, Great Lake Woods entered the wood moulding industry through a merger of two smaller companies. With an original facility of just 10,000 square feet we set out to gain a reputation for quality products and on-time delivery. We quickly became established as a reliable and reputable company. Our growth rapidly pushed us to require a new and larger facility to accommodate present demand and future success.

On January 1st of 1990, Great Lake Woods established itself in a brand new facility at our current Holland, Michigan location on John F. Donnelly Drive. With a modern 36,000 square foot facility we set about a continued path of growth and success, expanding through additional employees, more advanced manufacturing and new product lines. Our facility served us well and our growing reputation led us to a further expansion in 1998 to add another 21,600 square feet to our facility. We currently employ over 150 skilled staff from many diverse backgrounds.

Due to unprecedented success, supplying quality wood mouldings and related services to a wide variety of industries, Great Lake Woods once again reached a peak of capacity requiring us to expand further. Since 2004 we operate from an enhanced facility of over 102,000 total square feet, following a large new expansion project (see the Facility - Future page). Alongside this significant expansion we restructured our internal layout to raise our productivity and increase efficiency. We added new office space, new employee facilities, new parking areas and new entrance ways. This expansion also included a significant upgrade to our dust extraction system.

Great Lake Woods also installed new networked computer system on the shop floor to allow us more careful and automated monitoring of inventory, workflow and employee activities. Coupled with our recent expansion and restructuring we once again raised the bar to manufacture quality wood products more efficiently than ever before. We continue to strive and excel in the wood moulding industry.
