The Great Lake Woods website is divided into eleven main sections: Contact Us, Home, Values, Strengths, Materials, Portfolio, Delivery, Facility, Website Map, Help and Email Us. These sections can be accessed at any time by moving the mouse over one of these buttons and clicking on it.

The website is split into eleven sections. Clicking on a Section button takes you to a new Section

Additionally, the website is laid out with two separately scrollable areas for content such as text and images. Each section may contain one or more subsection pages.

The website is split into two levels - Sections and Sub-sections. Most sections contain more than one Sub-Section.

To go to a particular section simply click on one of the eleven section buttons on the left and top-left of the website. An introductory page for that section will be loaded into the leftmost scrollable content area. The introductory page will offer you a title for the section, a selection of links which you can click on to go to a subsection of the website, and some introductory text regarding the section you are in.

Clicking a Section button shows a new section's information

Content loaded into the left scrollable area may contain links for you to click on. Clicking them with the mouse will either load a related subsection into the right scrollable area or perform some other action such as jumping to a different section or sending an email. Most often content will be loaded in the right scrollable area when you click these links.

Clicking a link in the Section page will either take you to a new Section or display a new Sub-Section.

You will also see two links: "Top" and  "Bottom" which appear next to the section title. These come into effect when the content in the leftmost scrollable content area becomes too long to fit on-screen. When that happens, a scrollbar will appear which will scroll the content into view. By clicking on either "Top" or "Bottom" will take you to the top or bottom of the content.

Top and Bottom links scroll to the top or bottom of the pages

When you move to a new, main section of the website, you will notice that the image in the bottom right corner of the website changes. This is to help represent the fact that you have moved to a new section, and can be used to additionally tell you which section you are in. As such there are eleven different images that may appear. Additionally, clicking on the bottom-right image acts as a refresh button and will reload the content in the left and right scrollable content areas. You may use this as an alternative to your browser's Refresh button which may not work properly with our website (see Website Questions page).

Changing to a new Section changes the Section image. Clicking the section image reloads the Section and Sub-Section pages

Back to the top (overview)

As new content loads into the right scrollable area, a new subsection title will appear at the top of the right content. Also you will see links to the right of the title such as "Top" "2" "3" "4" "Bottom". These links come into effect when the content in the right scrollable area below them is too long to fit on the screen all at once. In such a case, a scrollbar will appear which will scroll through the content. Content in the right scrollable area may contain links which you can click on. These may either take you to a new section (which loads on the left along with a relevant subsection which loads on the right), to a subsection (which loads on the right) or may perform another action such as sending an email or zooming into a location map.

Links in the Subsection area may take you to new pages, new places within pages, or perform specific actions

Additionally, clicking the "Top" "2" "3" ..."7" "Bottom" links (actual links vary for each page) takes you to a particular line in the content. For content that is many pages in length this can be useful for jumping further ahead in the content rather than using the scrollbar, or to jump to points of interest, or to operate certain features of the content such as zooming into a location map or jumping to a related website.

Links at the top of a Sub-Section take you to places within the Sub-Section, or perform specific actions

Back to the top (overview)

At the bottom mid-right of the website you will notice four navigation buttons: "Start", "Previous", "Next" and "End". These buttons control movement between subsections for any given section you are viewing. So long as a section (such as Contact Us, or Portfolio) has more than one subsection page (most of them do), you will be able to move between them with these controls. You are still free to move between subsections using the links in the section introduction page in the left content area. Clicking "Start" takes you to the first subsection for the section you are in. Similarly "End" takes you to the last subsection. "Previous" and "Next" go backwards or forwards one subsection at a time. When you click any of these buttons new content will be loaded into the right scrollable area above them, a new subsection title with extra navigation links will be loaded and the current page number will be updated. These buttons will appear to just reload the page if there is only one subsection in the section.

Navigation controls beneath a Sub-Section page control navigation to other Sub-Sections, backward and forward.

Back to the top (overview)

Above the subsection navigation buttons you will see an indicator of how many subsections there are for the section you are viewing. For example, The Contact Us section has four subsections numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4. As you move to a particular subsection using either the buttons beneath or by clicking on a link or button elsewhere, the current subsection number will be shown along with how many subsections there are for this section. For example, the Map Location subsection which is part of the Contact Us section is represented as page "3 of 4" as there are four subsections in the Contact Us section, of which that page is page three. The page number will update automatically when you change to a new section or subsection using any navigation method. Clicking on the page number or number of pages will advance to the next page in the subsection, as if you had clicked the "Next" button.

The number of Sub-Sections in this Section is displayed, along with the current Sub-Section
